Submit a proposal for the 22nd Annual Teaching Practices Colloquium (TPC) on Tuesday, February 17, 2026!
This year’s hybrid conference will involve in-person presentations with opportunities to present to a hybrid audience. Posters may be presented in-person, or online asynchronously. Presenters will only be considered once as first author.
The following presentation types are offered:
- Short Teaching Tip (10 minutes + 5 minutes for questions)
- Presentation (25 minutes + 5 minutes for questions)
- Poster (in-person and/or online asynchronously)
Proposal Submission Details
In addition to standard fields, you will be asked to submit a:
- Presentation Abstract (1300 character/~250 word maximum) where you will include a brief description of the practice, concept, or approach to be presented, the structure of the presentation, the nature of the interactive element (if applicable), and what the attendees will learn by the end of the session. This abstract will appear in the conference program and must reflect the presentation activities.
- Theme Connection (600 character/100 word maximum) where you will describe how your proposal connects to this year’s theme of Putting People First! Human-Centred Learning and Pedagogies of Belonging.
Proposal Evaluation Criteria
Your proposal submission will be peer-evaluated on a scale of 1 to 5 for the following criteria:
- Does the presentation abstract sufficiently detail the presentation activities: a brief description of the practice, concept, or approach; the structure of presentation; the nature of the interactive element (if applicable); and what attendees will learn?
- Is the presentation type a suitable choice for the activities and goals of the session (i.e., short teaching tip, presentation, or poster)?
- Does the presentation relate to the conference theme of Putting People First! Human-Centred Learning and Pedagogies of Belonging?
- What is your overall impression – is the submission a good fit for a teaching practices colloquium?
Due Date
Proposal Submissions are due by Friday, December 19th, 2025*
* Due to current capacity levels of the committee, there will be no extension on the proposal submission deadline this year.
